Founded in 1972, Roland has been a key player in digital instruments for over 50 years. In the ‘70s and ‘80s Roland gained worldwide success with its genre defining synthesizers and rhythm machines like the JUNO-106, Jupiter-8, TB-303, TR-808 and TR-909. The Japanese brand also played a vital role in the development of MIDI in 1983. In 2016, Fact Magazine wrote that Roland arguably had more influence on electronic music than any other company.
