Introducing the Howarth student Tenoroon outfit
The Howarth Tenoroon outfit has been designed specifically for the younger player. It is smaller and lighter than a standard bassoon - the Howarth Academy bassoon model is 3.2kg in weight, the Tenoroon outfit only 1.25kg. It features a much refined bore design, including down-bore and finger holes which are lined with ebonite.
A great starter instrument for aspiring bassoonists
The Tenoroon is an instrument in F, which means that it sounds a fourth higher than a full-size bassoon. It is sometimes referred to as a Quartfagott. It features ebonite-lined bores and finger holes, a roller from F to Ab for the right-hand little finger and a whisper key to make for easier fingering, and the instrument weighs just over a third of a full-size Howarth bassoon, making it considerably easier to hold/ The flat springs, axles and pointed screws are all made of stainless steel for maximum longevity and value. All the key work is silver-plated. If you're looking for something even lighter, why not try the Howarth mini-bassoon!
