French style pointed key arms

These are the parts of the flute that connect the keys to the body of the flute. Traditionally reserved for premium model flutes, these French style pointed key arms feature an arm that extends to the centre of the key and helps to strengthen the mechanism which therefore makes the body of the flute stronger and provides you with a tighter key placement. This means that you will have less chance of air leaks and squeaks, making your flute reliable when performing.

An excellent note intonation is also guaranteed and will help when it comes to developing faster playing techniques, making this flute great if you intend to progress forward onto more challenging pieces.

With a heavy-weighted engraved and a yellow pear wood crown, the headjoint crown acts as a plug that seals the top end of the flute, therefore directing the air down the flute, towards the keys producing the best sound possible. The heavier weighted crowns such as these provide a greater air resistance and will help to centre the airflow down the flute with more efficiency. While most flute headjoints feature a machine-produced embouchure hole, Trevor James flutes all feature a hand cut embouchure hole which eliminates any rough edges preventing the flute from sounding it's best.
