The Laney A-Fresco-2 60W Acoustic Combo Amplifier is a performers dream, offering crystal clear amplified acoustic tones from an ultra-compact and lightweight design. Powered by its built-in rechargeable battery, the A-Fresco-2 can be used to perform quite literally anywhere!
The A-Fresco-2 can be utilised for a myriad of results. Acoustic guitars can be plugged in directly with a jack but then you can also mic your acoustic up and send that to the amp as well so you can blend both signals to get exactly the sound you want. This is a really great way to get the most out of your instrument.
The Laney A-Fresco 2 is also a great practice and recording tool! With a headphone out and an auxiliary in, you could load up your favourite jams or backing tracks and play along in relative silence. If you want to audition new tones before you record them, you can hook this up to your audio interface or mixing desk with a simple XLR or jack connection. With your headphones in, you can sculpt the EQ and external effects to taste.
With an aux input for iPods and other music players and an array of connectivity options for microphones, this could be perfect for small parties and acoustic house shows all on its own. Best of all, it negates the need for some much extra equipment and it’s only 7kg – a party you can carry! Including an FX send and return for external equipment and a DI out for connecting to a PA if you need more versatility out of the unit – you have it.
Feedback should be the last of your problems when you are playing, and Laney took this into account adding a feedback detection over multiple frequency ranges. This detects frequencies that are starting to feedback and adjusts accordingly. This is as simple to engage as pressing a button and is recommended to keep on if using an acoustic or a vocal mic – it is always nice to feel reassured.
The A-Fresco 2 has a battery that will outlast any gig, show, performance, you name it! It boasts up 24hrs on low power mode (reduces power to the amp) and a sleep mode function that when engaged works on both ‘eco’ and ‘normal’ power modes so you are never aimlessly wasting battery life – yet another reason to feel reassured.
For sculpting tone and adding space. The A-fresco 2 independent channel strips, each with there own EQ, reverb, and chorus effects. The EQ features the usual suspects (bass, middle, and treble) as well as a ‘shape’ function which raises the treble and bass response, giving a ‘scooped’ to the mid-range which results in a little more clarity and top end sparkle then balanced with a lush warmth in the bass response. Included in the amp is a reverb and a chorus, perfect for adding a bit of 3D dimensionality to your tone, giving it a sense warmth and character.
