Captures a natural acoustic sound

The AC-22XL contains many elements which contribute to the rich, complex sound of acoustic stringed instruments, including the soundboard, body resonance and more.

In recordings situations the stereo microphone setups are used to capture this combine sound along with the surrounding room ambience. Usually, positioning the mics to create the right balance for your song or playing style would require the skilled work of an audio engineer, however with the Air feel technology of the AC-22LX this problem is erased, with this amplifier always bringing authentic studio sound to acoustic amplification, every time.

5 Air feel settings

The Air feel transforms your pickup's sound with acoustic richness and dimension. Simply plug in enjoy your instruments natural acoustic character at performance volumes- without the need for a microphone or any audio engineering skills.

The Dry setting provides an unprocessed tone that amplifies the direct pickup sound. The XY setting recreates a coincident pair technique that uses two mics placed in an XY pattern, providing good balance between the strings and body resonance. The AB setting recreates a spaced-pair mic technique for wide stereo sound with naturally expanded acoustic resonance, making this great for solo guitar and fingerpicking styles. The ORTF setting combines elements of the XY and space-pair approaches. It produces a focused tone with increased depth and body resonance. The Mid-Side setting produces a well-defined sound with a wide stereo spread. It adds a sense of distance, providing a nice ensemble blend with vocals and other instruments.

Powerful sound shaping tools

Along with five AIR feel settings, the AC-22LX's guitar and instrument channel features a three-band EQ plus reverb and combined reverb/ chorus effects for additional spatial depth.

The XLR mic channel has selectable phantom power for condenser mics, plus two-band EQ and dedicated reverb for independent processing. Featuring 15 onboard memories you can save and recall setups for different songs and instruments, and the AC-22LX Editor allows you to have an even more control, through changing the reverb types and accessing detailed effects parameters, amongst more.

Built-in rhythms

The AC-22LX also includes a built in rhythm box to liven up practice sessions and enhance live performances. Five instrument types include percussion and full drum set sounds, all infused with BOSS spatial technology, filling up the surrounding space with vibrant rhythmic energy. The rhythmic box allows you to choose from 15 different patterns as well as a tap tempo button, as well as the option of using customisable patterns with 119 variations available in the AC-22LX Editor.
