The 2 Novelettes were written for piano in 1927 and 1928. This arrangement for wind quintet was made by Geoffrey Emerson and has proved to be very popular. Francis Poulenc (1899 '' 1963) was a French composer and pianist. Mostly self-taught, his works included songs, instrumental music, chamber music, secular and sacred choral music, operas, ballets, and orchestral music.
