Introducing the Kawai ES-520 portable digital piano

Kawai have released the all new ES520, the latest addition to Kawaiʼs popular ES series of portable digital pianos. The intermediate ES520 is a new midrange model that delivers many of the features of the ES920 at a more affordable price. With a wealth of features, such as Bluetooth connectivity and Kawai's Responsive Hammer III keyboard action, this new digital piano is a great new addition to the ES range.

The Sound of a Grand Piano

The ES520 captures the magnificent tone of two Shigeru Kawai instruments, the flagship SK-EX Concert and medium-sized SK-5 Studio grand pianos, allowing musicians to enjoy the contrasting properties of each. In addition, the ES520 also features the distinctive sound of Kawai’s highly acclaimed EX concert grand piano, which has frequently been selected by professional pianists in such prestigious events as the Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Rubinstein international piano competitions, among others.

Premium sound system by Onkyo

The latest ES series models boast powerful 40W stereo speaker systems, and incorporate audio processing and amplification technologies developed in collaboration with premium Japanese audio specialists, Onkyo. This unique hardware combination allows these lightweight, portable instrument to deliver well-rounded bass and crisp treble frequencies, reproducing the superb Shigeru Kawai grand piano sounds with exceptional tonal clarity and richness.

Responsive Hammer II key action

The ES520’s Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard action has been developed to represent the distinctive touch of an acoustic grand piano. Based on the highly-regarded RH keyboard action design, its spring-less technology and sturdy construction delivers consistent upward and downward motion for a smooth, natural, and highly authentic piano playing experience. The weight of the keyboard is appropriately graded to mirror the heavier bass hammers and lighter treble hammers of an acoustic piano, while let-off simulation recreates the subtle 'notch' sensation felt when softly playing the keys of a grand piano. These important characteristics allow discerning pianists to practise their expanding repertoire with confidence, and ensure that there are no unpleasant surprises when called upon to perform using the finest acoustic grand pianos.

Connectivity for all

The modern ES520 feature built-in Bluetooth MIDI and Bluetooth Audio connectivity, allowing apps such as Kawaiʼs dedicated PianoRemote control app or a wide range of third-party learning and recreation apps to be enjoyed wirelessly, or for music streamed from a smartphone or tablet to be played through the pianoʼs impressive audio system without any additional cables. Wired connectivity also remains strongly supported, with standard MIDI, USB, Line In and Line Out terminals providing a range of options for the home, studio, and stage

Innovative yet classic design

The latest ES520 adopts a brand new exterior design, with the flat panel surface complemented by smooth, rounded edges. The instrumentsʼ sturdy body is surprisingly lightweight, with the the ES520 coming in at just 14.5 kg. As one of the most portable pianos in their respective classes, the ES520 is an excellent choice for gigging or studio musicians, yet also ideally suited to academic institutions and venues. Also, when attached to the dedicated HM-5 designer stand and F-302 triple pedal bar in matching black or white finishes, these versatile instruments are transformed into stylish, ultra-compact piano replacements, delivering an exceptional playing experience for the lounge, office, or bedroom.

Delivery methods

We despatch orders quickly and efficiently. Orders processed before 1pm are very often despatched on the same day (subject to payment terms and stock availability). Orders placed after our couriers have collected will usually be shipped the following day. We use a variety of couriers and shipping methods to ensure that orders are shipped and delivered quickly and safely. We can call upon a number of additional couriers during busy periods, and also operate a private specialist service for acoustic and digital piano deliveries.

Collections can be made Monday to Friday, 9:00am –5:30pm. You can collect from our showroom where there is ample car-parking available.

Select ‘Click & Collect’ as the delivery method when you reach the checkout page. Your order will be processed quickly, and we will inform you by email when it is ready for collection (usually within 24 hours, subject to stock availability). Please bring a copy of your order confirmation with you when collecting.

If you would like to order from us, but you live outside the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, or Republic of Ireland, please email us at sales@chamberlainmusic.com with your enquiry and we will do our best to help.

If your basket contains items from more than one of these categories, you will be charged a blended rate (usually equivalent to the highest individual carriage charge). Some extremely large and built-to-order products are shipped direct from the manufacturer and are subject to further surcharges (see individual product pages for more information).

Orders paid before 3pm are normally despatched the same day subject to availability. If you need something in a hurry, we can normally organise next day delivery on products we have in stock. Call us for a quote.

Couriers are contracted to deliver Monday to Friday only, with the exception of our private piano delivery team who deliver on Saturdays where applicable.
