Introducing the Odyssey Debut ‘Eb’ alto saxophone
Favoured for beginners, the alto saxophone is heavily played in classical jazz, big band and concert bands as well as being the lead voice in a lot of other music from funk to classical chamber music. Slightly smaller than a tenor, it is lighter, slightly quieter and takes less puff and less finger stretching. This, coupled with the affordable price point makes this the perfect option for schools and for younger students beginning to learn the saxophone.
Excellent quality build
With a luscious, polished brass lacquered body, offset with clear lacquered parts, the saxophone has a traditional, classic look. The saxophone has been designed to provide comfort and security when performing in the high register, while maintaining a beautiful warm sound in any range – with superb intonation. The Odyssey Debut alto is also highly durable, built with a fully braced body to ensure the instrument stands up to the demands of regular play and transportation. The bell joint, neck and stack adjusting screws can be used to make the set-up more comfortable and the saxophones brass body is also finished with a protective lacquer.
Smooth response and tone
The blue steel springs provide a robust and durable action and give brightness and snap to the instrument’s sound whilst the domed reflectors aid projection. The alto sax has a light, free blowing response that will reward new players with excellent intonation and a stable, even tone throughout the registers, and the auxiliary high F# key provides extra versatility.
