Introducing the Rode NT5 microphone
The NT5, or 'pencil mic', is a cardioid condenser microphone which is both compact and light, making it ideal for recording acoustic instruments, cymbals, drum overheads and live performances. This externally polarised microphone has small diaphragm, 1/2 inch capsule, and an active J-FET impedance converter with bipolar output buffer.
A cardioid pickup pattern makes the NT5 perfect for not only recording music but capturing indoor dialogue when filmmaking and much more. The mic should be positioned to optimise sound quality, and this can be achieved by using a stand.
Supplied as an individual microphone, it is extremely versatile and high-quality.
