Tom & Will bassoon gig bag

I tried this bag on in the shop and was amazed how light it was. I asked them to put a bassoon in it to see how it felt fully laden. It already had a bassoon in it and I didn't realise!!!! Amazingly light. I bought it immediately. I'm over 60, and walk lots with my bassoon as well as using public transport. This bag is substantial yet light. It's got a narrow profile so sits nicely on your back and fits between your legs on the bus. It's light enough to lift on to the overhead rack on the train and fits there easily so you can keep an eye on your investment. Its carry handle is well positioned so the weight is correctly balanced. This is my 3rd try at a gig bag and I can assure you it's the best. I've passed the others on. This is the one for me - and you!!!!!

Finally found the perfect replacement for my aging gig bag. This one is lightweight, making transportation of my bassoons easier. Love its stand-up design which saves me from inconvenient bending. Plus, it's stylish and arrived promptly. The extra room for a stand in the external pocket added a bonus. Couldn't be happier!

Brilliant bag - we have tried others and this one must be the lightest on the market. The straps are really comfortable too. Definitely worth the investment!

Just received my new gig bag and first impressions are very good. I can fit everything in, it seems well made and looks good. Pity about there being no space for music ( but I'd realised that before purchase) I suppose the idea is to get the overall dimensions as small as possible for easier carrying. As one other reviewer states, it does fall forward if you stand it on its end but this is a small point and once I get a system going it should all be fine.

Having recently purchased an older bassoon whose case weighed twice as much as the instrument, I was in desperate need of a lighter case! This was the perfect choice! Its considerably lighter than the previous case and has plenty of space for accessories. The backpack straps are a huge bonus and makes transporting the instrument around much easier.

The bassoon is my second instrument (and a very expensive one to play casually) so compared to anything else on the market this bag is perfect for all my needs: the bassoon is very well protected by all the padding, the case is compact, lightweight, easy to carry around with the shoulder straps and the sturdy handles. It's made with good quality materials and feels like it's going to last a very long time. I am used to carrying music and stand in a different bag as my first instrument is the flute and I would never expect anything else to fit in that case so the cleaning equipment fits perfectly in. Maybe dividing the side pocket in two parts might be useful so things don't get lost as easily. Also it's within the size allowed for instruments on some airlines. I wish I got it sooner instead of putting up with a very uncomfortable and wobbly case for years!

I am very impressed with my case. After carrying it around London I can confirm it is very comfortable, lightweight and does not get in the way. The colour is lovely and there are lots of pockets and spaces for accessories. I feel that my bassoon is very well protected and it is a big improvement on my previous case. Although there isn't room for any music, this does not detract from the case.

Daughter very pleased with her gift. After some research decided this was best balance of price and quality. Light and so much easier to transport bassoon than original hard case, but still protects as it should. Takes up less space at home too! No downsides reported so far

The bag is very well made, and extremely light. It protects the instrument well. I really like the dedicated bocal pouch, which goes in its own pocket. The zippers and hide-away backpack straps are wonderful. However, it does have a few drawbacks. When the bag is fully loaded (2 bocals in their pocket, plus a reed box in the upper pocket), the bag is front-heavy and has a tendency to tip over. Also, the side pocket is practically useless – it's too narrow to accommodate sheet music, and it's too tight to store anything else. Besides, if you did manage to fit something like a bassoon stand in that pocket, you couldn't set the case down on its side. I've started using a messenger bag to carry my bassoon stand, tool kit, accessory tray, music-reading glasses, and sheet music – that's probably better for my bum shoulder, which is the main reason I had to stop using a wooden case in the first place. Bottom line: if you don't carry much extra stuff, or if you already have a system for that, this gig bag is an excellent choice. I only wish they made it in black, which would be less noticeable for those of use who like to keep our cases on stage with us.

Very lightweight compared to my hard case and the box for the crook is very helpful. Would be great if there was a space for my music without it going all curly. Thank you!

This case is lightweight, but still gives protection with its padding. Nice colour and lots of pockets for bassoon accessories. The front pocket doesn't quite fit in sheet music, but there's plenty of room for the crook/reeds/cleaning cloths etc.

Very nice bassoon bag! The only problem is that there isn't much space for sheet music/book.

Sehr schnelle und reibungslose Lieferung. Die Gig Bag ist sehr kompakt, macht dabei jedoch einen robusten Eindruck und durch die Einteilung ist das Fagott in der Tasche sicher verstaut. Die Tasche ist erstaunlich leicht und läßt sich durch die Tragegurte und die Rückenpolster sehr gut auf dem Rücken tragen.

I'm delighted with my new gig bag! It's lightweight but at the same time is well padded and offers a lot more protection than my old rucksack style bag which cost considerably more but has now disintegrated. I LOVE the blue velour interior and the streamlined design is very well thought out with plenty of space for reeds, pull -throughs et. c.

J'ai acheté cette housse sur les conseils de ma professeure de basson et il me change la vie. Plus léger et très confortable, je le supporte beaucoup mieux. Tout est conçu pour que le basson soit en sécuritéà l'intérieur. Et j'aime beaucoup sa couleur bleue.

Kompaktes Design und trotzdem ist das Fagott sicher verstaut. Koffer ist schön leicht, besser als der Originalkoffer der schwer und unhandlich ist. Zusätzliche Taschen für Zubehör. Bequem zu Tragen.

Excellent delivery service. Ordered on Friday afternoon and arrived in France on Monday morning. So looking forward to going to my next rehearsal and not having to lug my very heavy Yamaha case. Very impressed with the build quality and design of my new gig bag.

Loved the bag and most of it's design. There is one extra padded block with it to secure the boot section but I would have liked another for the bell too if I am honest. One of the zips is a bit stiff but I am sure this will ease with use. It will take a bit of getting used to after so many decades of a hard case.

Daughter loves it! Much easier to carry than her other bassoon case due to good shoulder straps and the position of the rucsack on her back.

I am SO happy with this gigbag! The bassoon seems extremely well protected and you can fit all sorts of paraphernalia in one of the pockets, even a music stand. Only sheet music needs to be carried in a separate bag, but you can see that from the pictures. I am especially happy with the design and the bassoon being stored upright so there is absolutely no way you could accidentally drop it out of its home. Overall this is a very practical and nice-looking bag and comes at a very reasonable price. I would recommend it to any bassoon player.

This case is really good, it's more compact than the old Tom and Will case, and your instrument fits in really well. Seems to be made of sturdy material. . . the reason I upgraded my case is because my old one was held together with tape! The ONLY downside is no where to store music. . . . but you can't have everything. Would highly recommend!

Excellent quality with great price. I am carrying my bassoon from lessons to rehearsals and concerts. Spacious enough for for reed, small water jar, pegs and stand but no place for A4 sheet- not an issue. Overall great quality. Highly recommended.

The case I had from 20 years ago when I was at school was huge, heavy and difficult to carry. Now I am delighted with he ease and weight and appearance of this one!

I received the Gig bag , and it was exactly what i expected ,it s easy to walk around with it . The only and important suggestion I can make is that , there is no convenient space for carrying notes in the bag , if only i fold them. And thats not proper enough. Thank you for the great product .

Very lightweight and comfortable. Much better than my old bassoon case which was like carrying a block. This one is just as protective. Would be perfect if it had a slot where I could keep my music.

We were looking for a decently priced and fairly lightweight bassoon case for my daughter to carry to school. This appears to do the job. She loves the red lining!

This gig bag is great! I first heard about it by word of mouth from an acquaintance who bought one so they wouldn't have to lug around a heavy case so naturally it sparked my interest and seeing as lugging around a heavy case isn't exactly enjoyable, I looked into buying a gig bag and it was a very good decision. 10/10 would recommend to any bassoonist.

Just received my splendid new bassoon case - so excited! I first used an end-loading case with an old Buffet in the early 1960s, but this is light years away from that with its innovative use of the features. So light that you can even afford to include a pocket for the music stand without adding too much weight. Well done Tom & Will! As an 'early 70th birthday present' it cannot be bettered.

SO happy to finally have this gig bag. Already one for my flute, but my bassoon case was very heavy and cumbersome. This is compact, lightweight, plenty of pockets for what I require and very reasonable price. Highly reccommend!

Great and comfortable carry bag for my bassoon. The only thing it needs is a compartment to carry music, but still worth its price.

Just received this bassoon gigbag: FABULOUS! Very nice looking with grey/red contrast; extremely lightweight, confortable and easy to carry; the bassoon is perfectly protected inside; very practical with external front and side pockets for reeds case and tools etc..., also the 2 bocals soft case is great. And low price for such a high quality! Just a suggestion: back pocket (for shoulders straps storage) could be about 1cmm wider in order to allow music parts storage in it. However, really excellent bassoon gigbag! I'm a pro bassoon player, teacher and also baroque and classical woodwinds maker, I will recommend it to my collegues, students and customers!

Excellent. My old case was three times heavier so now I can take my bassoon with me in comfort. My nice light music stand tucks reasonable well where the mops should be. I have converted the small block beneath the bell joint into a box for spare reeds - I took off the zip and re-applied it so that it could be operated from the outside. I have put a cardboard box within the beautiful red bag and stuffed it with cotton wool to protect the reeds.

I bought a cornet gig bag as Id had a back problem and couldn't lift my wood shell cornet case. The gig bag is light with handy pockets and arrived quickly. Brilliant

I bought this to replace an existing case as it has less weight. It is well made with adequate space and good value.

Received my bag yesterday. It's so lightweighted (especially in comparison with my old heavy case)! It's going to be a pleasure to travel by train with my bassoon without battered hands. Very handy pockets to stock your bassoon stuff. And last but certainly not least, it's sooo fancy!

Use got this gig bag as an early Christmas present. I've got a rehearsal and 2 concerts coming up in London and needed a light weight bag for travelling with. It's well padded and very comfortable. I like the pockets (including the one on the side which I found later!) although one slightly bigger so small amounts of music could be carried would be even more useful but I'm still very happy with the bag. I like there are 3 colours to choose from too. As it's a present, the price was very satisfactory.

I am a music teacher in the USA. Just got the bag today as a replacement for a bassoon case that was falling apart. I am very impressed by its construction and that it is flexible enough to accommodate differently sized bassoons (the one I am using it for has a longer bell joint). Having the handle on the side as well as the tuck-away backpack straps is great. The student was also pretty excited about it, too.

It arrived today, am delighted. The smoky gray is perfect for hiding in an orchestra pit and the cool red lining is so bright I could spot a runaway screw in the bottom of the bag. I can also dry out the baroque bassoon joints upright in in this lovely bag as it stands by itself. Happy me !

Lightweight and well designed, it's a lot easier to carry than my old case. It's especially good to have the extra padding for the crooks and the pockets for all the "bassoon bits".. I'm looking forward to the next time I need to take my bassoon somewhere!

Received bag today! Excellent delivery timing. Ordered Yesterday arrived today early morning. Could have done with dispatch notification via email. Lightweight and enough room for everything. Seems to be all perfect sizes. Looking forward to using. A bit tight initially but soon loosens up. Great buy!

Love my new bag! At 11 years, youngest and smallest in the bassoon ensemble with the biggest and heaviest bag, so my mum bought me the same as the rest of the group. Mine even matches my burgundy violin case so I'm now coordinated when I have both instruments and best of all can manage the much lighter weight. In fact, it's no bigger than the violin case - awesome!

Lightweight, compact but with enough room to fit all accessories and associated paraphernalia in (reed box, neck strap etc). Bassoon seems to be very well protected. Great buy - any chance of other colours in the future?

This bag is really cleverly designed, for example the shoulder straps tuck away when not needed. It is very lightweight and looks fabulous. I am only 11 years old and my bassoon is now much easier to carry.

I want to tell you how pleased I am with my new Bassoon Gig Bag. It is compact, lightweight, softly-padded inside and attractive. Friends have already asked me where to buy one. My previous backpack-style case was so heavy that I was injuring my anatomy.
