Introducing the Yamaha fife

Yamaha YRF21 Fife's are fun and easy instruments to play that hold precise, uniformed intonation that players of all levels will enjoy.

Played transversely like a Flute, yet made from ABS resin, just like a recorder, it is a lightweight and durable instrument that is ideal as a starting point for those wishing to move onto a Flute at a later date or alternatively, people who wish to play folk music.

It is of 2 piece construction, making cleaning the instrument easier and is supplied with a drawstring bag and detailed fingering chart.21

Aggie, our woodwind instrument specialist says: "This is a fun little instrument for any child who is too young to start learning the flute. The blowing technique is almost identical. The fingering, though very similar to the flute, can be a little tricky - still, at least they can learn to produce a sound. Alternatively this instrument makes a great, more subtle alternative to the tin whistle for any experienced musician."
