Tambours or frame drums are a shallow single headed drum that is usually held and played with a beater, or your other hand. It is one of the oldest musical instruments, typically made of a rawhide stretched over a wooden frame, although synthetic materials are now often used as well. We supply a variety of different frame drums, including tambours and shaman drums.
All of our tambours are from Percussion Plus including a colourful example from the Slap Percussion range and some Honestly Made shaman drums with natural materials and animal designs.
The PP035 and the PP047 are some of our most popular tambours for schools with simple but durable designs that have been built to last. The high quality produces a great sound that students can enjoy and learn from.
Percussion Plus
Some of the available products include the PP880 Tunable tambour pack of three and the PP0375 tambour wood shells pack of three. These packs are great for schools and educational institutions to introduce rhythm to their students. These packs can provide you with three different sized drums for different pitches to experiment with.
Honestly Made instruments
All of our Honestly Made products have been manufactured in independent family workshops that are too small to join fairtrade groups or are located in countries that do not have such organisations. As well as creating fun instruments with aesthetic designs, the methods used to collect the materials and create the products are ethical and do not damage the environment.
Some of our tambours are part of our honestly made range including the PP2065 shamanic drum, PP2080 Shaman drum and the PP2082 Shaman drum with an animal design all of which have been responsibly sourced and crafted in developing countries.
