About the clarinet
The clarinet is member of the single reed woodwind family and has been a staple in the orchestra since the 18th century. All of the clarinets we supply use the French Boehm system with 17 keys as this is the standard across the UK and many parts of the world. The most common size is the Bb clarinet, however you will commonly find A clarinets, Eb clarinets, C clarinets, alto clarinets, and Bb bass clarinets used in orchestral music.
Not just an orchestral instrument, it also has cemented it’s place as in the jazz and popular music idiom with players like Benny Goodman, Sidney Bechet and Acker Bilk.
