From the very earliest design stages to the final preparation of the finished piano, no corners have been cut, the very finest available materials specially selected, and each piano meticulously prepared by senior technicians, resulting in a superior instrument of uncompromising quality and refinement.
Very special pianos indeed and produced in limited numbers, the SU Series consists of two models, a compact 118cm SU118C and the 131cm SU7, each specially designed to provide the optimum response and expressive control, with an unparalled tonal palette and resonance.
The Yamaha SU118C delivers a remarkable tonal quality for such a compact instrument, and is the only model in Yamaha's product lineup which is built on a 118cm tall frame. Specially designed to produce as rich a tone as possible, the hammers are specially designed for a rich and clean tone, while the bass strings are custom made for enhanced depth and resonance - areas which are usually lacking on smaller pianos. Encased in an elegant polished ebony cabinet with brass fittings, the piano is built to be a lifelong musical companion, and is also the only traditional style model in Yamaha's range not to be fitted with castors.
