The 100TR has a rose lead pipe which gives a mellow, if slightly darker tone straight from the mouthpiece through to the bell, and also makes it sing in the middle to low registers. This combined with the medium .459 bore, gives a smooth sounding instrument with plenty of character and expression. The cupronickel slides are used to extend the lifetime of the instrument and to prevent corrosion.
The valves are made using stainless steel, which not only makes the playing feel incredibly responsive, but also improves the lifespan of the instrument considerably. And an adjustable 3rd slide ring and 1st slide thumb hook enables extended range notes to be reached whilst maintaining correct tuning. Finally, the instrument is incredibly free-blowing – perfect for encouraging beginners to make a sound for the first time.
