Introducing the Octopus Spalted maple with solid spruce top concert ukulele

The featured solid spruce top has been especially selected to produce the best possible tone whilst providing a naturally beautiful finish. With its dark contrasting lines, the spalted maple perfectly combines with the solid spruce top to create a ukulele you wont want to put down!

Part of the Octopus ‘Solid Top’ range, the solid spruce top naturally vibrates to produce a sweet and complex tone. A fantastic ukulele for those looking to start getting serious about playing, and it would hold its own on stage, as well as in practice and group sessions. Its stunning finish also makes this the perfect addition to anyone’s growing collection.

Each ukulele features the highest standard of finish, including perfectly rounded off frets to protect your fingers, NuBone nut and saddle as well as Aquila Nylgut strings for optimal tone production. Whether you’re practising at home or playing along with your ukulele band on stage, this solid spruce top ukulele will not only sound and feel great to play, but will look stunning too!


Quality components

The materials used in each Octopus ukulele have been carefully selected for tone production and longevity. A tie bar bridge is accurately bonded to the body for excellent sound production and silver chrome diecast tuners offer reliable tuning in a shiny finish. The side walls are fully lined for sound projection and a high-quality appearance.


Stunning design

The light, creamy yellow solid spruce top effortlessly contrasts with the darker spalted maple back and sides which is accented by a genuine Mother of Pearl rosette that catches the eye. This ukulele also features the iconic Octowave headstock with an Octopus logo.


Graph Tech NuBone XB nut and saddle

Nubone doesn't damp string vibration like plastic - instead, it transfers the optimum frequencies to the ukulele. Essentially, this new material helps produce more volume and a better tone.


Aquila Nylgut® strings

Each ukulele comes fitted with Aquila Nylgut® strings as standard - the best in the world for intonation and tone. Produced exclusively in Italy, the Aquila factory manufactures approximately 300,000 ukulele strings every day – that’s enough to re-string 75,000 Octopus ukuleles!

Size and range

Concert ukuleles are slightly larger and longer than the standard soprano at 23” (58cm), and they have a few extra frets on the neck meaning a slightly larger range. Also, the extra size makes the concert have a louder and fuller sound as well as allowing for more space between the strings.
